It would be not-for-profit, any expenses shared (can't think of many), and just an informal club purely for the benefit of members
ideas:
1) further building works - in particular shade for the pool(s) and shade for sun terraces
2) lockable storage for owners
3) some communal equipment for visitors - kids toys, pool toys, beach toys, lost property box, travel cot/high-chair, first aid post, disabled access, bulletin board...
4) local services - laundry, broadband/cable TV,
5) longer-term idea - dinghy's for hire? and someone to look after them.
6) tax advice - local taxes, UK taxes, deductable expenses
7) utilities
8) insurance
9) web-site and advertising in general including collaboration where guests want more than 1 'unit' - clubs, groups and special interest holidays.
10) holiday activities - local guides/intructors - walking, biking, sailing, day-trips, wildlife, ...

We know that the developer is working with a very large rental and exchange company for the benefit of the owners, this could be linked in with the owners club in a number of ways?

Thanks for everyone's interest - and appologies for the delay in response - I don't browse this site every week.

 1) I've been in touch with the new owners of Candia and Chris Niemeijer has been very helpful.  They are progressing most of the issues raised above and I have an email buletin from him if anyone wants it?

 2) OTIP - yes, please circulate my email and this forum to see if anyone else wants help.

3) Candia have posted a video on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=90Ds0x7uKj0

4) I'm planning to visit for snagging and potentially handover on the weekend of May 1-4 (the bank holiday) - happy to make it a group event and share costs.

5) Advice welcome (from OTIP) on tax and record keeping?

6) Furniture packs are available from Ascendi and they are in direct contact with Candia for delivery and fitting out - see  www.bayviewfurniturepacks.co.uk

7) Candia are setting up a management company ( let me know if you want details)

8) Candia are in negotiation with RCI group.  Nothing final yet but see www.grouprci.com

Its all progressing professionally though slower than hoped.  Candia are still estimating completion by May (see video for progress).

In preparation for completion of Bayview and the associated decisions we need to make, can we get together to review and decide upon:

  1. Completion and handover process (snagging, penalties, legalities)
  2. Communal areas - furniture, toys, facilites in general
  3. Site Management services e.g. Candia offer
  4. Insurance
  5. Rental management services (marketing, web-sites, tax, ...) e.g. RCI offer
  6. Owners Association (ie Mike Moorhead proposal)
  7. AoB

 As a proposed venue, how about Cedar Court Hotel Bradford, 6pm Tuesday 19th May?  please let me know if you can attend.  Teleconference option for those that can't make it in person.
